2011 NFL Mock Draft: A.J. Green Looks Good In Brown?

Stay connected for news and updates

Looking through the latest 2011 NFL Mock Draft updates this week, one thing seems certain.  Many 'experts' feel the Cleveland Browns are going to draft a wide receiver.  Earlier it was Julio Jones from Alabama.  In Mel Kiper's latest Mock, however, it is another wide receiver from the SEC, but not Jones:

A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

The Browns need a No.1 wideout and Green has fit the profile since he landed between the hedges at Georgia. Green is a complete package, with size, speed and solid route-running skills, and he will be the best friend of a young quarterback as a player that's able to go up and take the ball away. Cleveland has some good pieces, and Green is exactly what Colt McCoy needs.

There is little doubt that Green is more explosive than Jones, but Jones might be a better fit for the West Coast offense that head coach Pat Shurmur will employ.  From talking to various Browns fans, however, wide receiver is NOT on the top of their wish-list.  The Braylon Edwards-effect, perhaps?
