Cleveland Browns defensive end Marcus Benard was involved in a motorcycle accident this afternoon after leaving Browns practice and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance according to various media reports.
According to those reports, Benard was on his way home from the team's practice in Berea when his motorcycle struck a wall on I-71 near West 65th Street. The Browns have yet to release any details on Benard's condition other than to confirm that Benard was indeed involved in an accident.
This is not the first time Benard has been rushed to the hospital. In November, 2010, Benard collapsed in the Browns locker room and was rushed to the hospital. Benard returned to the field quickly, however, playing that Sunday.
Benard is in his 3rd season with the Browns and led the team last season with 7.5 sacks after being signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Jackson State.
