The oddsmakers once again have the Cleveland Browns as heavy underdogs heading into Week 8 in San Francisco.
After holding on for a 6-3 win against the Seattle Seahawks last week, the Cleveland Browns are once again the heavy underdogs this week, as they attempt to climb over .500 on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.
According to our friends over at OddsShark, the Browns are currently nine point underdogs against a resurgent (at least so far) 2011 49ers team. At 5Dimes, San Francisco's spread is as much as nine and a half points. Hey, it's not all bad news, though...SBG Global and InterTops have the 49ers at only eight and a half point favorites!
Given the aggressive defense fielded by the Niners, and considering the Browns were only able to score six points against an underwhelming Seattle squad last week, it looks like Week 8 could be another tough uphill battle. But then again, we've been surprised before.
This is also a tough week if you're thinking about playing the over/under, which is currently at 38.5 across the board after opening at 39.5. If the Browns had scored more than six points last week, that might be an easy call. Not sure how confident I would be that these teams can combine for 40 points.
