A first look at the standings in the NFL

After only four weeks of action in the NFL, only two teams remain unbeaten: The Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, who happen to share the same division -- the NFC North.

Welcome to the first of a weekly series of looks at the standings in each conference. Right now it will be a little generic, just telling you where teams stand and who is on the upcoming schedule for the week. As time goes by I will get more "tie-breaker-centric" and it may develop over time into something that resembles mathematical equations.

But that is what makes things fun when the snow begins to fly, yes?

So, without further ado, here is a look at the standings after four weeks, as the NFL gets ready for its first week of byes.

I am going to show the records for each conference from top to bottom. If two or more teams are tied, right now we will just show them alphabetically. In time that will change.

Please note that there will be three sets of "standings": the first will be the overall record, the second will be the division record, and the third will be the conference record. Then, when all of the standings are done, look for the coming week's schedule at the bottom of the article.
