Week 16 NFL Power Rankings: Fox Sports Holds Browns After Loss

Stay connected for news and updates

The Cleveland Browns haven't had the greatest of seasons, but there were some positives in last week's game against the Arizona Cardinals. It's just unfortunate that positives had to reveal themselves once your starting quarterback suffers a brutal concussion and there's only two games left to play. They're out of the playoff race, and now they've got a quarterback controversy on their hands. That might actually be a good thing if they can't draft or find a replacement who is ready to go right away - Seneca Wallace showed some good stuff and almost led the Browns to a win. They're mostly holding in the weekly power rankings at this point.

Fox Sports keeps the Browns at No. 27 in their Week 16 NFL power rankings:

Backup QB Seneca Wallace actually played well filling in for the injured Colt McCoy. Well enough to wonder why he didn't get a shot earlier in the season, but the Browns needed to see what they had in the McCoy. In my opinion, they still haven't found a franchise QB for the future, and need to make that a priority in the offseason.

Colt McCoy may not get a chance to show the Browns that he deserves to be the quarterback of the future either, depending on how serious his concussion is. That being said, Wallace might have earned more playing time regardless of where McCoy is in his recovery from said concussion.
