Week 17 NFL Power Rankings: Fox Sports Drops Browns One Spot

The Cleveland Browns kept things closer against the Baltimore Ravens than many expected, but were handed a loss regardless. Many are wondering if this is the end of the Colt McCoy era, even if he happens to be healthy enough to return from a concussion. McCoy could get another chance to start, though, considering the fact that Seneca Wallace hasn't been able to get Cleveland over the hump over the last couple weeks. Sure, he's provided a spark offensively, but the team is still losing. The Browns are generally holding in the weekly power rankings, though.

Fox Sports drops the Browns one spot in their Week 17 NFL power rankings:

28. The Browns don't have a quality quarterback, they have no-impact receivers and they most likely will lose the physical running of Peyton Hillis in the offseason (not that it was a factor at all this season). This team is still multiple years away from being a contender in the AFC.

While this is pretty harsh, there's bits of truth. Cleveland boasts a strong defense and probably isn't as far as away as Brian Billick suggests, but their quarterback position is among the worst in the league, and it's not going to help their case in power rankings.
