Browns roster transactions: Josh Cooper to be activated off practice squad, according to report

The Cleveland Browns have activated rookie wide receiver Josh Cooper off the practice squad and moved receiver Jordan Norwood to injured reserve. Norwood suffered a foot injury last Sunday against the New York Giants, but will be eligible to return to the field in eight weeks.

Cooper is an undrafted free agent who played with Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden at Oklahoma State. Last year as a senior, Cooper caught 71 passes for 715 yards and three touchdowns. He told reporters on Friday that he feels "really prepared" thanks to being able to work with Cleveland's offense. Like Norwood, Cooper is a small, shifty slot receiver.

Elsewhere on the receiver front, Cleveland receiver Travis Benjamin practiced on Friday but is still doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Mohamed Massaquoi, who is also dealing with a pulled hamstring, has already been ruled out for the game.
