The Cleveland Browns couldn't catch a break when it came to linebacker Scott Fujita. He was suspended by Roger Goodell as part of the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, and dealt with a lengthy appeal process while he battled an injury to try and get back on the field. He didn't make it, and was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury.

According to the team's official website, they have filled his roster spot. The team signed defensive linemen Brian Sanford to the active roster from their practice squad, and officially announced the move to injured reserve for Fujita on Saturday.

Sanford has seen action in five games with the Browns, and was originally signed as an undrafted free agent in May of 2010. Sanford was inactive for all eight games he was on the 53-man roster in 2010. Given that Fujita has been frequently inactive, it's likely that Sanford will remain on the inactive list while spending time on the active roster.
