Browns running back Trent Richardson was nominated for the NFL Rookie of the Week award after his team's 7-6 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Richardson rushed for 122 yards on 24 carries and scored the Browns' only touchdown. He's up against running back Vick Ballard and quarterback Andrew Luck from the Colts, running back Doug Martin from the Buccaneers, and defensive back Harrison Smith from the Vikings.
Richardson has played well for the Browns this season, rushing for 470 yards and five touchdowns and adding 209 yards and one touchdown receiving, all while playing through various nagging injuries. The rookie out of Alabama has shown flashes of brilliance, reinforcing why the Browns took him as the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Fans can vote for Richardson (or any of the other candidates), and look at each player's highlights from the previous weekend's games at NFL.com/rookies.
