NFL Draft 2012, Mike Adams: Ohio State Lineman Falling Out Of First Round In New Mock Drafts

Ohio State offensive tackle Mike Adams may have bench pressed his way out of the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Adams fell out of the first round of the most recent 2012 NFL Mock Draft from SB Nation this week.

Adams did just 19 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press test at last week's NFL Scouting Combine. A number of wide receivers and other, smaller player bested Adams in the bench press. Because strength is highly regarded among offensive linemen in the NFL, many view the bench press as one of the more relevant evaluation of a prospect's future.

Dane Brugler, an NFL Draft analyst at CBS Sports, listed Adams as his top "faller" in the wake of the Combine.

At right tackle, he'd need more power and bulk and he's not a rare athlete as a left-side prospect.

Adams already faced questions about his character and judgement following his involvement with a group of Buckeye players who traded memorabilia for tattoos.
