Browns Free Agency 2012: Jayme Mitchell Released, Dimitri Patterson And Juqua Parker Signings Official

The Cleveland Browns have released defensive end Jayme Mitchell, according to the Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Mitchell was with the Browns for the last two seasons but became expendable with this week's signings of Frostee Rucker and Juqua Parker. Mitchell was due a base salary of $2.4 million and was simply not productive enough at that price for the Browns to consider keeping him on board.

Via @MaryKayCabot:

While Mitchell started 13 games last season, he had only 1.5 sacks and just 26 tackles playing in Dick Jauron's defense. The release comes as no surprise. The Browns also officially announced the signings of Dimitri Patterson and Juqua Parker.
