2012 NFL Mock Draft: Browns Could Take RB Doug Martin At 22nd Overall

With Robert Griffin III completely out of the picture for the Cleveland Browns after they lost out on the second overall pick to the Washington Redskins, there have only been a couple of options being thrown around. In the newest SB Nation 2012 Mock Draft, the Browns take one of the more popular ones, Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill. That's nothing new, though Alabama RB Trent Richardson has been popular as well.

It's the 22nd overall pick of the draft that is interesting. Mock drafter Ryan Van Bibber admits that it's a simple Armchair GM move, but it's certainly an interesting one as he gives the Browns Boise State RB Doug Martin. With Trent Richardson not the pick at fourth overall, the Browns offense still lacks running talent. That move would give them a brand new rookie one-two punch, something exciting for the fans if nothing else.

This is pure armchair GM'ing on my part. I think Cleveland needs to think offense early and often in this draft. I had LSU's Randle here, but they can get one of a good group of receivers in the top of the second round. Martin can do it all, and help out whoever is at quarterback.

This is, of course, contingent on the Browns not trading their picks around in the first round, which the latest gang of rumors seem to indicate might be happening. Seemingly every single team in the league seems to want Tannehill at this point so there could be some juicy offers for that fourth overall selection.
