2012 NFL Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns Select RB Trent Richardson With The 4th Pick

Stay connected for news and updates

In Mel Kiper's latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft (insider), he projects that the Cleveland Browns will select former Alabama running back Trent Richardson with the fourth overall pick. Via Kiper:

I'm sticking with Richardson here. The Browns are in serious need of help on offense, and given they have some talent along the offensive line, Richardson can be successful early, and take a lot of pressure off the quarterback. The Browns have other needs, but need and value line up here.

ESPN recently reported that the New York Jets are considering trading up to the third pick in order to select Richardson. In the event that Richardson is off the board, the Browns would likely select former Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon.

Aside from Greg Little, Colt McCoy doesn't have many weapons to throw the ball to and Blackmon would certainly improve the offense.
