2012 NFL Draft Results: Ohio State WR DeVier Posey Selected By Houston Texans In Third Round

Stay connected for news and updates

We haven't seen DeVier Posey on the field much over the past year. But the Houston Texans really liked him, selecting him with the No. 68 overall pick in the third round. Posey was projected by some outlets to be a fifth- or sixth-round pick, so this was a bit of a surprise.

Posey was suspended for the first 10 games of the 2011 season for his involvement in the tattoo and merchandise scandal, along with NCAA violations at a summer job. In the three games he did play, he had 12 catches for 162 yards and three touchdowns. But he started every game since the start of his sophomore season, so there was plenty of film on him, and the Texans obviously liked what they saw.
