2012 NFL Draft Results: Ohio State's Dan Herron Goes To Cincinnati Bengals In Round Six

The Ohio State Buckeyes just saw another player get drafted into the NFL, as the Cincinnati Bengals made running back Dan Herron the No. 191 overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft in the sixth round. He joins wide receiver DeVier Posey and offensive tackle Mike Adams, who were drafted in rounds three and two, respectively.

Herron was a team captain with the Buckeyes for the 2011 season by a vote of his peers, though he only played in seven games. On top of that, he was named the most valuable player based on those seven games. He's ranked 10th all-time at Ohio State with 2,869 career rushing yards, and eighth all-time in touchdowns with 33.

He'll join a Bengals team that has already selected three other offensive weapons, starting with wide receiver Mohamed Sanu in round three, followed by tight end Orson Charles in round four, and another receiver, Marvin Jones, in round five. At face value, it looks like Herron will have a chance early on to compete for playing time, as the Bengals don't have a set star running back, with guys like Bernard Scott and BenJarvus Green-Ellis being Herron's primary competition.
