The Cleveland Browns will open preseason play on the road with a game against the Detroit Lions.
The Cleveland Browns will open preseason play on the road with a game against the Detroit Lions. The NFL released its preseason schedule on Wednesday, and the Browns will play two on the road before finishing up with two games in front of their home crowd.
The Browns preseason schedule looks like this, dates have yet to be determined:
Week 1: at Detroit Lions
Week 2: at Green Bay Packers
Week 3: vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Week 4: vs. Chicago Bears
The Browns' preseason schedule is heavy on the reunions. Team president Mike Holmgren coached in Green Bay from 1992-1998, winning a Super Bowl during the 1996 season. Eagles head coach Andy Reid worked for Homgren during part of that stretch, until he left to take the head coaching job in Philadelphia in 1997. Pat Shurmur worked for Reid from 1999-2008.
None of the Browns preseason games will be nationally televised.
