Cleveland Browns cornerback Buster Skrine is ready to step into a starting role if the team needs him to do so.
"Every game we’ve played in this preseason, I’ve played with the ones and have done a pretty good job," Skrine said Tuesday after practice. "I’m always confident in any situation, so I’m ready for it if my name is called."

Starting cornerback Joe Haden is reportedly facing a four-game suspension for a failed drug test, and nickel corner Dimitri Patterson remains out of action because of an ankle injury.
Skrine played appeared in all 16 games for the Browns in 2011 and finished the year with 18 tackles and one interception.
