Browns Preseason 2012: DE Frostee Rucker Hopes To Play Friday Vs. Eagles

The Cleveland Browns will make their home debut during the 2012 NFL preseason on Friday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, and new defensive end Frostee Rucker is hoping to be ready for action on game night after missing the last two weeks with an injured right knee. The Browns signed Rucker as a free agent during the offseason, and after battling injuries during training camp, he rejoined the team for practice on Wednesday.

Rucker recently spoke with Nate Ulrich of the Arkron Beacon Journal about his impending Browns debut, and it sounds like the DE expects to suit up on Friday night:

"I'm really anxious to finally get to run out of that tunnel this week," Rucker said Wednesday after the final practice of training camp open to the public. "I hope [I'll play Friday]. It's gonna be a coach's decision, but I'm putting myself in a position that he's gonna be comfortable putting me in the game."

"It's been dreadful being on the sideline watching those guys compete and battle and not be out there in the huddle with those guys. It feels like I might finally get an opportunity to do it, and I should take full advantage of it."

Rucker signed a five-year, $21 million deal with $8 million in guaranteed money during the offseason.
