Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden was suspended four games by the NFL on Monday afternoon for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances. Haden reportedly tested positive for adderall and news of a potential suspension surfaced during training camp in August. But the NFL was silent on the matter in the week leading up to the Eagles game, leading many to believe Haden's appeal of the suspension had been successful. But the league made it official on Monday:
"Joe Haden of the Cle Browns has been suspended w/out pay for four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances."

The suspension begins immediately and he will not be eligible to return until after the Browns game against the Giants on October 7.
The veteran corner from Florida has become a mainstay in the Browns defensive backfield, and started the season on Sunday with an interception of Michael Vick off a tipped pass. Buster Skrine and rookie Trevin Wade, who was inactive on Sunday, will likely see increased time with Haden now gone and Sheldon Brown dealing with a shoulder stinger
