Brandon Weeden Sets Browns Rookie Record For Passing Yards

Stay connected for news and updates

After an absolutely abysmal Week 1, Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden bounced back in a huge way against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2, throwing for a team rookie record of 322 yards.

Weeden completed 26-of-37 passes while throwing for his first two touchdowns of his career. His quarterback rating for the game was 114.9, a far cry from his score of 5.1 in Week 1.

He broke the record that was set by Eric Zeier when he threw for 310 yards against, ironically enough, the Cincinnati Bengals on October 29, 1995.

Although the Browns lost the game, the performance should encourage fans that Weeden can be a competent NFL quarterback. Next week will be a telling game for Weeden, as he takes on the Buffalo Bills.
