Trent Richardson Rebounds With Impressive Week 2 Performance Against Bengals

Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden wasn't the only player to have an impressive performance in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Fellow rookie, running back Trent Richardson, overcame a sloppy Week 1 to put up some big numbers in Week 2, and can't be blamed for the team's 34-27 loss. Richardson carried the ball 19 times for 109 yards, and also managed to catch four passes for 36 yards.

What does Richardson have to say about it? He says he just felt more comfortable, according to Ohio.com:

"I think I was just more comfortable with myself that, ‘Hey, I'm still able to run like I used to' and do it much better," Richardson said of his improvement. "In my head, [I was thinking] ‘I've got to run much stronger because these guys are much stronger than the guys in college.' Hopefully I'll come out stronger next week."

Richardson was the team's top draft pick this offseason, and many were disappointed by his play in Week 1. There were those that were critical of his play, mostly because running backs usually make the NFL adjustments quicker than players at other positions. Richardson took a lot of flack thanks to Weeden's 5.1 quarterback rating in his debut, however.

Still, it's definitely a positive sign for the Browns that Richardson is putting up 100-yard games. The fact that he's catching passes is also a positive sign, and now all Cleveland needs to do is figure out how to put it all together to turn his solid performances into wins.
