Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson met with Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Brown after Sunday's game. This comes just two weeks after Brown referred to the rookie as "ordinary" following Richardson's unspectacular NFL debut.
It was a nerve-racking experience for Richardson, as he told Tom Reed of The Plain Dealer:
"It was a shaking moment for me. Just to hear that he wanted to come talk to me and took the time out to come to the game ... he said, 'You're going in the right direction.' Just seeing him, it was a shaky moment for me. I was real nervous. I didn't know [what] the outcome was gonna be, but at the same time, it's Jim Brown."
Brown advised the rookie tailback to "keep striving" after Richardson ran for just 27 yards on 12 carries during the Browns' 24-14 loss to the Buffalo Bils.
