Cavaliers Trade Rumors: Ramon Sessions Draws Interest From At Least Three Teams

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Ramon Sessions has drawn trade interest from the Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trail Blazers, and New York Knicks, according to a Twitter message from ESPN.com scribe Chris Broussard.

The four-year veteran, in his first season with the Cavaliers, is averaging 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists while shooting 46.2 percent from the floor, and given that he’s only 24 years old, it’s easy to see why teams looking for a boost in the backcourt would call the Cavs to ask about his services.

Cleveland can demand a high price for Sessions, however, as he’s still important to the team, averaging 35.5 minutes in six games this month. Broussard does not mention what players the potential suitors may offer in return.

The Cavs acquired Sessions, Ryan Hollins, and a future draft pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer in exchange for Sebastian Telfair and the non-guaranteed contract of Delonte West. He is under contract for the next two seasons for a total of $8.9 million, a fair number, although he owns the option on the final year.

Sessions has scored in double-figures in 13 of Cleveland’s last 14 games, including a 32-point outburst on Wednesday night as the Cavaliers upset the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers at Quicken Loans Arena.
