Cavaliers Trade Rumors: Anthony Parker Sought By Celtics, Bulls

ESPN’s Marc Stein reports the Cleveland Cavaliers have listened to trade proposals regarding guard/forward Anthony Parker from the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls. The two suitors, who rank near the top of the Eastern Conference, seek an additional three-point shooter who can spread the floor and sop up minutes at both wing positions off the bench.

Cleveland is willing to part witk Parker, says Stein, for “a quality draft pick or a young big man with promise.” The 35-year-old Parker, in his eighth NBA season, is in the last year of a two-year, $5 million deal he signed with Cleveland in the summer of 2009. He’s shooting 39.8 percent from three-point range, a good figure which nonetheless ranks below his 41.4 percent career mark.

Though both the Celtics and Bulls have their eyes on Parker, “it remains to be seen whether either of the two teams is willing to meet Cleveland’s asking price,” according to Stein. Based on the Cavaliers’ reported wishlist, the Celtics could potentially offer rookie center Semih Erden, while Chicago may be willing to part with either James Johnson or Taj Gibson, two young, energetic forwards.
