Cavaliers Let Late Lead Slip Away Against Pacers At The Q

Danny Granger scored 23 points – 11 in the 4th quarter – as the Indiana Pacers sent the Cleveland Cavaliers to their 22nd straight loss in a 117-112 win at Quicken Loans Arena. Darren Collison added 22 points and 9 assists for the Pacers who have won 2 straight since firing head coach Jim O’Brien.

The Cavaliers led 108-105 with 2 minutes to go saw the Pacers score 5 straight points to take a 110-108 lead with 1:30 to go. The Cavaliers could never get over the hump again, getting to within 113-112 in the final moments before Anthony Parker missed a layup attempt for the lead. The Pacers made 2 free throws to make the score 115-112, giving the Cavs one more chance, but another turnover, the 11th of the night for Cleveland, sealed it for Indiana.

Ramon Sessions had a season-high 25 points and 9 assists for the Cavs while Antawn Jamison scored 21 points. Manny Harris continued his impressive play scoring 19 points. Anthony Parker added 17 points for the Cavs.

The story of the game was the size of Indiana really taking it to the Cavaliers on the glass. Indiana out-rebounded the Cavs 49-32, including 16-6 on the offensive glass. It gave Indiana 13 more shot attempts than the Cavs, making up for the fact that Cleveland took 12 more free throws.

The Cavaliers will have to wait a little longer in an attempt to break their historic losing streak. The Cavs head to Memphis on Friday night.
