Read More: LeBron James (F - MIA)
The Cleveland Cavaliers are open to trading any of their players for future draft picks, according to a Twitter update from Yahoo! Sports writer Marc J. Spears. Cleveland, which owns the league’s worst record at 10-46, apparently wishes to rebuild after LeBron James’ departure via the draft.
As prior updates in this StoryStream show, the Cavs have previously received interest in point guard Ramon Sessions (from Atlanta, Portland, and New York) and swingman Anthony Parker (from Chicago and Boston). Unfortunately for them, Anderson Varejao, whose skills as a defensive-oriented center would make him a popular trade target for contending teams, is out for the season with an injury to his right ankle.
We’ll learn soon enough if Cleveland’s efforts to bolster its collection of future draft picks will succeed, and which players they’ll lose as a result. The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 PM Eastern.
