NBA Trade Deadline: Deron Williams Sent To New Jersey Nets In Blockbuster Trade

Stay connected for news and updates

Did anyone see this coming? A few weeks after Utah Jazz point guard Deron Williams won an apparent power struggle with long-time Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan, the Jazz have shipping him to the New Jersey Nets a day before the NBA trade deadline.

The Jazz will receive rookie Derrick Favors and guard Devin Harris, as well as draft picks in the deal that also involves the Golden State Warriors. Favors had been the centerpiece of a deal the Nets tried to pull to get former Denver Nuggets F Carmelo Anthony. He ended up being dealt to the New York Knicks yesterday.

Williams is averaging 21.3 points while dishing out 9.7 assists per game for the Jazz and is a two-time All-Star.
