Kevin Love had a big game and the Timberwolves pulled away in the second half to hand Cleveland its fourth straight loss.
Kevin Love scored 36 points and had 13 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Cleveland Cavalier 91-73 Friday. The loss was the fourth straight for Cleveland, which played without starting guards Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters.
Love scored 20 of his points in the first half, but Cleveland was within seven points thanks to solid 3-point shooting. The Cavs shot 5-for-14 from 3-point range in the first half, but were just 2-for-10 in the second half. Cleveland shot just 35 percent overall for the game.
Alonzo Gee led Cleveland with 16 points. Anderson Varejao grabbed 14 rebounds, but he shot just 2-for-10 and finished with four points. Off the bench, C.J. Miles scored 13 points and Donald Sloan had 10 points for Cleveland.
Luke Ridnour had 12 points, seven assists and five rebounds and J.J. Barea scored 10 points off the bench.
Minnesota improved to 9-9 with the win. The Cavs are now 4-16.
