Cavaliers Vs. Hornets Final Score: Cleveland Struggled On Off Night For Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving played a major role in consecutive wins for the Cleveland Cavaliers, scoring in critical moments in a pair of one-point victories. He wasn't able to provide any kind of spark against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night, however, going just 2-for-13 from the field to tie a career low with six points. The Cavs fell 89-84 to drop to 13-18 on the season.

The Hornets never trailed after taking an 11-9 lead in the first quarter. Up 50-43 going into halftime, New Orleans expanded its lead to 12 points with under 11 minutes to go in the game. The Cavs proceeded to go on an 11-point run that featured five points each from Ryan Hollins and Ramon Sessions. A pair of Jarrett Jack free throws put the Hornets back up by three, however. They pulled away from there, as the Cavs had to result to fouling late in the game.

Antawn Jamison led the Cavs in scoring, putting up 22 points in addition to 12 rebounds. He went just 8-for-23 from the field however, on a night when the Cleveland shot just 31.8 percent for the game. Gustavo Ayon and Chris Kaman combined for 30 points and 30 rebounds inside for New Orleans.

The Cavaliers were hoping to win three straight games for the first time this season.
