Irving leads the Cavs with an average of 18.5 points per game. The Duke product is shooting 47.8 percent from the field, and sinking 42.4 percent of his three-point attempts. Irving is making 86.9 percent of his free throws for the season.
Cleveland is sitting in third place in the Central Division with a 13-20 record. They have lost their last three games, most recently a Wednesday night game against the Knicks. In spite of their record, Irving looks to have all the makings of a franchise cornerstone, something to give fans hope for the future.
Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings represented the Western Conference for the Rookie of the Month.
