NBA Trade Deadline: Cavaliers Waive Jason Kapono, Sign Manny Harris

Stay connected for news and updates

Acquired in the Ramon Sessions trade, the Cleveland Cavaliers officially waived Jason Kapono on Saturday, as expected. In conjunction with the move, the Cavs re-signed Manny Harris, which was also foreseeable.

Harris has been with the team on two prior occasions on 10-day contracts, but was let go before the deadline when his latest contract expired with the expectation that he would rejoin the team after they swung some deals.

He has appeared in only three games and 20-plus minutes for Cleveland this season. Before signing, Harris spent 17 games with the Canton Charge where he started 12 games. He averaged over 21 points on 47-percent shooting with almost eight rebounds and over three assists per game in 33 minutes per game.
