First and foremost, the Cavs want to halt a current two-game losing streak before it becomes a true streak worthy of note. In doing so, the Cavs would beat the Hawks to end a current six-game losing streak to Atlanta, a team that presents its share of matchup problems for Cleveland with Joe Johnson and Josh Smith giving the Hawks a chance to utilize a small lineup.
The Hawks arrive in Cleveland coming off a 102-88 win over Washington at home on Friday after they had lost three of their last four games on the road. Johnson leads the Hawks in scoring with 18.6 points per game while Josh Smith adds 17.9 points and 9.6 rebounds.
Cleveland jumped into the Eastern Conference playoff discussion after winning three straight games last week, but the two losses this week have them three games behind the surging New York Knicks.
The game is scheduled to tip at 3:00 p.m. Eastern and will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio.
