Cavaliers Vs. Pistons: Cleveland Tries To Avoid Fifth Straight Loss

The Cleveland Cavaliers will look to beat the Detroit Pistons to end a four game losing streak on Wednesday evening.

Neither the Cleveland Cavaliers or Detroit Pistons can claim to be on fire at the moment. Cleveland extended a losing streak to four straight against the 76ers on Tuesday night while Detroit needed a last second winner in a low scoring slog-fest to end a four game slide of their own on Monday.

Both teams share a quality piece, that being a good looking rookie point guard. Kyrie Irving, picked first overall in last year's draft, has almost unanimously won the rookie of the year award already with his play while eighth overall selection Brandon Knight has looked pretty solid for the Pistons in what has been a down year for them. Detroit probably has a more solid overall team featuring guys like Greg Monroe and Rodney Stuckey, but Cleveland has been carried by Irving and fellow rookie Tristan Thompson to a similar record. Which is to say, both teams need work.

Cleveland has won both games so far in 2012 between these two teams. If there's a team that they'll be looking to beat to end that four game losing slide, it will probably be the Pistons. Down 6.5 games in the playoff race, they need to start winning post-haste.

The game will be at Quicken Loans Arena at 7:00 p.m. ET.
