The Cleveland Cavaliers failed to solve the Indiana Pacers again on Friday night, two nights after losing to their Midwestern neighbors. Cleveland lost by a final score of 102-83. It was their second loss in a row and fifth in the month of April.
The Cavs had a two-point lead at the half. Indiana came on strong in the third quarter, outscoring Cleveland 34-13 to wrestle control of the ball game. Six players scored in double figures for the Pacers, with Danny Granger leading the way with 18 points. Roy HIbbert had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Samardo Samuels had a double-double for the Cavs, 10 rebounds and 10 points. Omri Casspi led the team with 14 points.
Cleveland plays at Washington on Saturday. The Wizards are one of two teams in the Eastern Conference with a worse record than Cleveland.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be plenty busy this weekend as they get set to play in three straight games, starting with a rematch against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. The two teams met on Wednesday, with the Pacers coming out victorious in overtime, 104-98.
After the game, the Cavs will take off for Washington where they will take on the 14th place, Wizards on Saturday night. The Wizards won the last meeting between these two teams on March 3, 101-98, despite a late game rally by the Cavs.
On Sunday, Cleveland will come back home to host the Orlando Magic for the final time this season. Orlando has beaten Cleveland fairly easily this season, winning both of the previous two matchups.
