The Cleveland Cavaliers (21-44) will conclude their 2011-2012 NBA season Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls (49-16) at the United Center without star point guard Kyrie irving who has been bothered by stomach problems.
The Bulls have won the last seven games between the two teams, including the two games played this season. Chicago is the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference, but still does not know its opponent yet. Currently, the Philadelphia 76ers are in the eight seed, while the New York Knicks are slotted seventh.
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has said he will play his starters between 20-30 minutes Thursday night.
Cleveland lost to the Washington Wizards Wednesday in the season finale in Cleveland. Irving played despite his illness, but racked up just 10 minutes. Instead, rookie D.J. Kennedy led the way for the Cavaliers with 12 points.
