David Huff, in a desperate bid to win a spot in the starting rotation, threw five blanks against the San Francisco Giants last night as the Tribe won their sixth straight game in the Cactus League, beating the Giants handily, 7-1.

Chad Huffman drove in four runs for Cleveland with a three-run homer and an RBI double, and Luke Carlin also homered to lead a 10-hit attack. Carlos Santana and Austin Kearns drove in a run apiece, while Jack Hannahan contributed three hits.

Jeanmar Gomez went four innings in relief of Huff, giving up a long-ball but otherwise holding the World Champs scoreless. Gomez gave up three hits and struck out six.

Huff, in his five frames, struck out three and allowed only three hits while walking one to move to 2-1 on the spring.

The Indians will try for seven in a row this afternoon at 4:05 when they take on the Milwaukee Brewers.
