Arizona Crushes Carmona And Tribe, 16-5

Lonnie Chisenhall collected four hits and Shin-Soo Choo drove in a pair of runs, but that was just about the only good news for the Indians this afternoon, as the Arizona Diamondbacks raced out to a 13-1 lead by the middle of the fifth inning and went on to cruise, 16-5.

Fausto Carmona had a rough day in falling to 2-1 on the spring. Carmona gave up two in the first and four more in the second, eventually leaving after three innings, seven hits and six earned runs surrendered. Carmona also gave up two of the Diamondbacks' three home runs.

Arizona pounded out 22 hits against seven Indians’ pitchers, while the Indians mustered 14 hits of their own. But that was much too little to prevent Arizona starter Daniel Hudson from picking up his first win of the spring.

Cleveland, now 4-6 in the Cactus League, will take on the San Diego Padres tomorrow afternoon in an attempt to snap out of their pitching funk, which has now surrendered 32 runs in the last two games.
