Sports Illustrated has conducted a poll of 259 MLB baseball players to find out whom they think is the most underrated player in the game. According to Cleveland.com, the winner of that poll was none other than Indians outfielder Shin-Soo Choo, who collected 13% of the vote. Here are the rest of the results.
Most selected was Shin-Soo Choo (13%), followed by the Atlanta Braves' Martin Prado (5%), the Texas Rangers' DH Michael Young (4%), the Boston Red Sox's 1B Adrian Gonzalez (4%0 and the Washington Nationals' 3B Ryan Zimmerman (3%).
The votes must have been split among a bunch of other players, because 13% is a pretty low figure to win a league wide poll. But it's nice to see that he is getting some sort of recognition, even if it is just in a poll that says he isn't receiving enough recognition. But this is a start, and if he starts to play the way he did last year, he might start getting even more ink.
