Indians roster moves: Scott Maine claimed by Toronto, Vinny Rottino & Kevin Slowey outrighted

Mike DiNovo-US PRESSWIRE

Vinny Rottino and Kevin Slowey have been assigned to Triple-A Columbus.

The Cleveland Indians outrighted Vinny Rottino and Kevin Slowey and lost Scott Maine after he was claimed by the Toronto Blue Jays on waivers, according to the team's official Twitter feed.

Maine was acquired by the Indians in August and surrendered seven runs on 13 hits in six innings of work for the Indians.

Rottino had three hits in 28 at-bats in 18 games for Cleveland in 2012 while playing left field, right field and catcher.

Slowey missed most of the season with a stress fracture in his rib cage and spent the entire year with the Indians' Triple-A affiliate, the Columbus Clippers. Cleveland acquired the right-hander from Colorado this past offseason. Slowey last pitched in the majors in 2011 for the Minnesota Twins, when he appeared in 14 games, starting eight, and had an 0-8 record with a 6.67 ERA and 34 strikeouts.

Cleveland's 40-man roster now stands at 34 players.
