Grady Sizemore Injury: Indians Outfielder Out 8-12 Weeks Following Back Surgery

Cleveland Indians' outfielder Grady Sizemore will be out two to three months following back surgery, according to Buster Olney of ESPN:

The procedure Sizemore underwent was a microdiscectomy, a surgery to remove herniated disc material that is pressing on a nerve root or the spinal cord. Sizemore has been plagued with knee injuries over the past two seasons, including a microfracture surgery on his left knee in 2010.

After Cleveland declines Sizemore's option for the 2012 season, they resigned him to a one-year worth about $5 million. Sizemore, 29, has played his entire career with the Cleveland Indians after being drafted by the Montreal Expos in 2000.
