Indians Trade For Right-Hander Jairo Asencio, Send Cash To Braves

The Cleveland Indians traded for pitcher Jairo Asencio on Thursday morning, sending cash to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for the right-hander. Asencio is out of options and will likely compete for the final open spot in the Tribe's bullpen. The Tribe made the announcement on their official Twitter account:

The Indians have not yet announced who will come off the 40-man roster to make room for Asencio. This spring, the righty had 12 strikeouts and three walks in 11 innings with the Braves. But as Jordan Bastian points out, he has a history that Tribe fans have become all too familiar with this offseason:
