Indians Spring Training 2012: Cleveland Pitcher David Huff Injured In First Inning

Stay connected for news and updates

Cleveland Indians pitcher David Huff was hurt facing the Diamondbacks first batter in the Indians Cactus League game Thursday afternoon, according to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com.

Huff was in competition for the fifth spot in the Indians rotation, but because of poor results is now a candidate for the bullpen, potentially as a long-reliever. He allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits over three innings in his previous start Sunday.

He has started 48 games in his three-year career, registering an ERA over five and a 15-25 record. He has played all three seasons with Cleveland, starting 10 games last year for the Tribe.
