Indians Vs. White Sox Final Score: Chicago Scores Early, Wins 10-6

While there wasn't a full house on hand to witness, the Cleveland Indians fell to 1-4 on the season with a 10-6 loss at the hands of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon. Technically, it constitutes a two-game sweep, with the middle game of an intended three-game series being postponed on Tuesday. Starter Justin Masterson was shelled right away, giving up four runs in the first inning.

Alejandro De Aza singled right off the bat to center field, and then Brent Morel reached on an error while sacrificing to move De Aza to second. Adam Dunn then singled, bringing De Aza home and Morel to third. Paul Konerko then doubled to left field, scoring Morel and bringing Dunn around. Masterson was unable to stop the bleeding at that point, as Dunn was scored on a while pitch, bringing the run total to three. AJ Pierzynski hit a sac fly to score Konerko and then Masterson was able to get the three outs he needed, but the damage was done.

Asdrubal Cabrera would go on to double in the first inning for the Indians, and would score on a John Danks wild pitch of his own. Travis Hafner would hit a homer in the fourth to bring it a bit closer, and then the Tribe added two runs in the fifth, but a monster sixth inning for Chicago sealed the deal. Dan Wheeler and Rafael Perez both pitched in said sixth inning, and gave up five runs between them, all of them earned.

Masterson's day was done after the fifth inning, and he finished with eight hits given up and five runs allowed (three earned) for a 2.77 ERA. Danks picked up the win for Chicago and finished with four runs given up off of seven hits and five walks to three strikeouts, for a 5.40 ERA.

The Indians will now head out for a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals as they search for their second win of the season, starting on Friday.
