Johnny Damon And Cleveland Indians Close To Deal, According To Report

Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported Wendesday night, and against Thursday morning, that a deal between the Cleveland Indians and Johnny Damon was imminent.

The Cleveland Indians are close to reaching a deal with 39-year-old Johnny Damon, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Rosenthal began tweeting about the suspected deal Wednesday night, and again Thursday morning.

If signed, Cleveland would be Damon's seventh team, and third in the AL Central. He started his career in Kansas City in 1995. He later played for the Yankees and Red Sox, among others, and in 2010 played for the Detroit Tigers. Last season he appeared in 150 games for the Tampa Bay Rays, hitting .261 with a .326 OBP.
