Ubaldo Jimenez was suspended five games for throwing at former teammate Troy Tulowitzki.

Cleveland Indians pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez will be suspended for the first five games and fined for hitting Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies, Tom Wither of The Associated Press reports.

Jimenez hit Tulowitzki in the back on Sunday in Scottsdale, Ariz., then threw his glove to the field and charged toward the plate aggressively. Unless he chooses to appeal, Jimenez's suspension will begin on Opening Day on Thursday. He will miss one start if the suspension is upheld.

Jimenez may have been upset with some comments Tulowitzki made to the press after Jimenez said thay playing in Cleveland was "heaven" compared to Colorado.
