Indians Vs. White Sox: Cleveland Looks To Keep Hot Streak Going Against Chicago

The Cleveland Indians, fresh off a sweep of the Detroit Tigers, face another AL Central foe in the Chicago White Sox for a three game series starting Friday.

Part of the reason that the AL Central currently belongs to the Cleveland Indians has been their ability to take games against their division rivals, including a recent sweep of the Detroit Tigers. They'll need to stop another AL Central team and the one who they've struggled against most this year, the Chicago White Sox, starting on Friday to keep their stranglehold on the division going strong.

Game one of the series in Chicago will begin with Jeanmar Gomez on the mound for the Indians. Gomez has a 3.19 ERA and a 3-2 record so far in 2012. Jose Quintana, making only his second start of the season, will take the hill for the White Sox. His other game was also against the Indians, throwing a solid 5 and 2/3 innings against Cleveland in an eventual 8-6 loss.

The Sox are currently 3.5 games behind the Indians in the division, so more strong play by Cleveland could push their division rivals even farther away as they continue their good division positioning in the young season.

The game will be at U.S. Cellular Field at 8:10 p.m. ET.
