Asdrubal Cabrera Injury: Indians Shortstop In Lineup For Tuesday Night's Game Against Royals

Stay connected for news and updates

Cleveland Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera will be in the lineup for the second game of the Tribe's series against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night. Cabrera sustained an injury on Friday night against the White Sox, when he was removed in the seventh inning with tightness in his hamstring. He spent the remainder of the weekend resting, but unlike Carlos Santana who was injured in that same game, a trip to the disabled list was not expected. While Cabrera will go on Tuesday, he will not be in the field with Manny Acta opting to hit him third as the DH.

Cabrera told Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan that he was able to go on Monday, but the club opted to give him another day of rest. Ruiter reports that Cabrera expects to be back at shortstop on Wednesday.
