Asdrubal Cabrera is the only member of the Indians in the top five at his position in All-Star balloting.

Less than three weeks remain in the 2012 Major League Baseball All-Star Game balloting, and only one member of the Cleveland Indians even in the top five among vote-getters for his position. According to the official totals released by Major League Baseball earlier this week, Asdrubal Cabrera was fifth among American League shortstops with 344,065 votes.

Even without representation among All-Star starters, the Indians are within a half game of first place in the American League Central behind the White Sox. Cabrera has a long way to go to earn the starting nod. Derek Jeter of the Yankees has a commanding lead with 1,698,777 votes, which is more than 600,000 votes ahead of Elvis Andrus of the Rangers. Cabrera also trails Alcides Escobar and J.J. Hardy in the voting.
