The Cleveland Indians have dropped two in a row against the Cincinnati Reds. They lost 5-3 Wednesday night after dropping the series opener 7-1 on Tuesday.
Brandon Phillips hit 3-for-3, including a two-run home run to deep left center in the seventh that put the Reds up 5-2.
Michael Brantley extended his hit streak to 20 games with a single in the fourth. The streak is a career high and it is tied for the longest in the MLB this season. It's the longest for a Cleveland player since Casey Blake's 26-game streak in 2007.
Mat Latos improved to 5-3 with the win. He struck out seven and gave up seven hits in seven innings.
Game 3 of the series is at 12:35 p.m. ET on Thursday.
