After losing five-straight games, the Cleveland Indians snapped the streak in dominating fashion on Thursday night when the club drubbed the Baltimore Orioles, 7-2. On Friday night, the Tribe will look to continue that effort in the second game of a four-game set against the O's.
Baltimore will be looking to end their own sad streak as the club has dropped their last three games and has been out scored over that span by a combined total of 27-6.
The projected starters for Friday night are Derek Lowe for the Indians and Jake Arrieta for the Orioles. Lowe is 7-6 with a 4.28 ERA over 90.1 innings pitched in 15 starts this season. He has failed to register a win in his last four starts, accumulating a record of 0-3 over that span.
Arrieta is 3-9 with a 5.55 ERA over 94 innings pitched over 16 starts this season. He has allowed at least four earned runs in seven of his last 10 starts.
